Well Howdy and Hello, welcome to another blog post, another University Post, this time its my Halls Room Tour. Although it's not the biggest of rooms it's very cosy. Being at University in first year, you don't get the biggest choice in Halls but with what you get it's very handy and you get what you need. I was very lucky to have an en-suite room, which means I have a shower and toilet connected to my room and I don't have to share a bathroom with anyone.
Of course there isn't much you can do with a student room, but you can make it look like home. In the pictures below you will see what my room looks like.
As you can see from the pictures here you can see that I have made my room look homely that makes me feel comfortable. The photo wall is my favourite thing because all the pictures are memories of things that happened at home.
As of now that is the end of this post and I hope you enjoyed it and look forward to the next one.
So for this post I decided to do something different, I have decided to sum up my experience of University so far, I know I have been here for nearly a month, but I have had experiences that I never thought I would have until I got here and for once I decided I will post about my experience so far because it's been a great time so far. When people tell you Uni will be the best experience of your life, I never believed them and I am not one hundred percent sure right now since it's only been a month. One thing I will say since being here, I have made more more memories then I have ever made and I literally don't know how much I can talk or preach about how much I have loved my experience so far. I will try to narrow it down as much as I can to the memories I have made so far. Freshers Week! Let's start with the week every first year will say they wish they could repeat and do again! I mean I definitely wish I could relive that week already and it has only been nearly three weeks ago. Let's start with the beginning, I moved in on the Saturday before Freshers started on the Sunday! So once my final flatmate moved in on the Sunday we were all prepared to go out to the club right opposite our flat. So we had pre's, just the three of us in our kitchen and well let's just say I drank way to much before we made it to the club, and before I could get there I was sick, so I missed the first night out and the second night out. Then we were going to go out the Tuesday night but my flat mate had a messy night out the Monday night that he was't really feeling like going out so instead we had a movie night. So finally the Wednesday night, after my flat mate had made a friend in the other block of our flat so we went to pre's with them and finally, I MADE IT OUT! We went to PRYSM and honestly I made a new group of friends alongside my flat mates and I honestly had the best time out in a long time. Freshers lasted about two weeks, although on the second week, it didn't have many freshers events, it was still classed as Freshers Fortnight. I spent from the Wednesday to the Saturday drinking and going out and it was definitely eventful but it was the best time I had. Although Freshers week was amazing, there was definitely some downfalls about those weeks, mainly the part that it wears you out, it makes you so tired that you could spend an entire week in bed if it wasn't for the fact that I had to get up for lectures during the week unfortunately. Also Freshers Flu is a thing, and I am still suffering from it but only with a bad throat but honestly that's all I can think is the bad thing about freshers week because in all honesty, it's the best way to get used to being away from home and meet new friends. Living Away from Home Living away from home is a scary thought and I know that, during the week of getting ready to go and was packing to move away, I was panicking, partly about being away from home and my parents and also because I was worried about making friends with my flat mates and other people in the university. By the time I got there it was such a shock at how quickly I settled in, the first day was half emotional, half exciting. Now, I literally dislike going home, I went home for a night and hated it and I have definitely settled in. I would like to say that I have been able to get used to it on my own, but my flat mates have made me feel more comfortable about living away from home. If you're like me and you get worried about being away from your parents and friends and everything and you're worried that you won't make friends, I can garentee you guys that once you're there it becomes easier, because you're all in the same boat which means you'll make friends with people. The more friends you make the more easier it is at Uni, trust me, be open to meeting new people making new friends and eventually you will feel more comfortable and like it is your home, so when you go home you'll end up wishing you were back at university and not there. There's me already worrying what will happen when I end up graduating and not living at Uni and I have at least another two years to go and I have only been at uni a month now so let's put it this way it has become my home now and I love it. REMEMBER: If you ever do get home sick, then plan a trip home, have something to look forward to. Also phone your parents and friends and keep in contact, the more you do that, the less home sick you'll feel. Remember your friends and family want what's best for you, but they will also understand you feeling homesick when you're away from home for about 8-9 months out of the year. Starting the Course
Now this is where we have to remember I came to uni to get a degree not just a great time and a great night life. I am studying Business and Management and although it will definitely be a great degree to graduate uni with, it's definitely not easy and it's definitely not easy to get back into the swing of education after a year out, not saying I regret having a gap year, I definitely needed it, but getting back into the hang of remembering to do work at home is hard but as time has gone by I am kind of getting in to the swing of it. My one main thing of advice for you is make friends with people on your course, that way you know one, you have people you have something common with and you can talk to, also if you are stuck if you're friends with them, they are likely to lend you a hand. I have made a few friends on my course and I am happy that I have, I literally enjoy going to class sometimes just to see them so it is worth making friends with people on your course as well as outside of it.
Having Fun This is actually something a few of my lecturers have said, as much as you come to university and you are paying a lot of money to be here, make sure you have fun in your first year. One thing that I have learnt in the last few weeks is going out in the middle of the week isn't a bad thing, and it lets you have fun and make new friends. Also might make you make a few little mistakes, either ones you'll regret or ones that you will be grateful for, whether that is making out with a guy or something even more, it definitely is worth making those mistakes because you're only young once. Think about it, where do you want to be in ten years, Do you want a family? Because if you do, then you won't be able to go out making out with a ton of guys and having as much fun as you are now. Do you want to have a successful job? That means more time is spent working then going out for fun. So make the most of it whilst you can because there will be a time when that all changes.
Would I recommend University to Others Honestly I know over a two years ago now I was adamant that I wasn't going to ever come to uni, and now here I am. I mean it's obviously a personal choice, but I definitely think it is something everyone should experience, there will be challenges but there will also be good times and I honestly know that it is going to be an experience that will change my life. If you're looking for the chance to become independent, make new friends that could possibly be your life long friends, learn something new and just have a great time then I think it is worth coming to.
So that is the end of my post, I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it.
After what seems like forever since I last posted a blog post, I am finally writing and it's definitely a simple blog post. After watching my favourite youtuber Caitlin Rose's video that can be found here about 19 things learnt by 19, I decided to do 21 things I learnt by 21. Also read till the end as I am going to explain a few things after.
21 THINGS I LEARNT BY 21
It's okay to be selfish sometimes in order to make yourself happy, even if it means letting others down sometimes.
It's okay not to be okay all the time, you don't have to be happy and feeling okay all the time, you are allowed to have days when you're feeling down.
You don't have to do everything your friends are doing, just because their things seem fun, you don't actually have to do the things they are if you don't want to or feel like it.
You can't please everyone, even if you want to, you're not going to be able to make everyone happy.
A relationship isn't everything and you don't need a man in your life, it's nice to have them there but you don't need them, it's about being independent.
Just because you're best friends with someone doesn't mean they will always willingly open up about everything that's going on with them and you can't force them to either all you can do is be there for them and support them and let them know that you are there if they ever want to talk.
That you can't get everything you want just by asking, you have to work for it and then earn it and it means a lot more.
Not all friendships will last forever and you can't expect it too, you can just try to make them work.
You will argue with friends, boyfriends, parents, and other people, it's not always going to be simple, people are going to disagree with you no matter who they are.
Even if you say you don't care when you're in an argument and you don't feel bad or guilty for anything in an argument, the truth is you do and you're lying to yourself saying you don't.
True friends will last forever whilst boys will come and go - refer to a sex and the city quote!
Just because you're best friends doesn't mean you will see each other all the time and that's okay, you're busy, you've grown up, it's not like school when you see each other every day for five days in a row.
Life will never be simple even when we want it too as it's always throwing challenges our way and it's up to us to try and conquer those challenges.
When people say you need a job, you need to find a job, remember just because people say that doesn't mean it's easy to get a job.
Everyone expects you to know what you want to do when you get older but the truth is, it's okay not to know.
You won't look like your idol actress and you don't need to, you just need to look like yourself.
Always be yourself, you shouldn't have to act like someone you're not just to fit in and make friends, you will find friends who appreciate you for who you are.
If you're happy with your weight then you don't have to change it because other people tell you that you should. And other peoples comments on your weight shouldn't even be something that makes you want to lose weight.
It's okay to make mistakes, everyone does, and without those mistakes you wouldn't be where you are today.
Never expect anything, the least expectations you have the better things will be because you've stopped things are going to be amazing.
The greatest thing you'll ever learn is to love and be loved in return.
So now for a little update: First of all, I am sorry for the unfrequent posts on here, sometimes it has been hard to find motivation to write and i just don't want to post things that I am not proud of. Second of all, I am off to university very soon, so I am kind of hoping to have more posts up within the next year, but they will again start off a little slow. Thirdly, I am very much thinking of buying a domain name but I am very unsure so if anyone out there thinks it would be a good idea then I would really love your feedback.
So that is the end of my post, I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it. Feel free to leave a comment.
Well although this blog post is long overdue, I am finally here, sitting here, writing it for you lovely guys to read it. I have decided for this next post that I would try my hardest to do my morning routine, the only thing I left out was my make up routine, since once I have found a good one to do, I will write another post on that. And also since I don't often wear make up, since I work most of the time, I didn't think about doing it for this post. Now enough for the rambling, let's get on with the post.
1. Wake Me Up With Coffee
When waking up in the morning, I have a bad habit, it probably is as I tend to drink about three cups of coffee in a morning. But the first thing I do is get up, go to the kitchen all half asleep and make a cup of coffee, even whilst making a little mess on the side before getting shouted at for forgetting to clean up the mess. Although the coffee doesn't really wake me up, it usually makes me feel good or it at least tastes good that makes me want to drink it every morning.
2. Fill Me Up Smoothie
This isn't really an everyday thing, it's more of a most of the week thing but some mornings I forget to be honest. Smoothies are something i love to make, I don't make it straight after my coffee I usually wait about 30-40 minutes before I get up and make it but then I still won't drink it for a while after that. I tend to love to make a mango, strawberry and banana smoothie, sometimes I will add something else, for example a kiwi or pineapple chunks or something different.
3. Freshen Up the Skin
It's always hard to remember to start my day off with skin care, I mean it's not the most exciting part of the day am I right? But after you have done the skin care, then the face feels super fresh and awake and I have noticed the more I do this the more awake I feel within a day. And no this is not an ad or sponsored by Simple, Simple has just been my go to skin care for the last few days and I feel that it is very good for my skin. I start with the Facial Wash, then the Cleanser then the Toner and then the Moisturizer. Then I put some lip balm on which is the Nivea soothing balm. Finally Aveeno is used for the rest of my body as it also helps with my eczema.
4. Cleaning the Teeth
Another part of the normal day to day routine that isn't that interesting and exciting is the time when you have to clean your teeth, I mean I am not the best at making sure I get up to do it. But once the teeth are cleaned, don't you feel like your really refreshed and ready to make the day.
5. Smelling Great
The last thing on my list is to make sure I smell good before I get dressed wherever I go I make sure that I chose my favourite smells. So right now my favourite smells apart from the dove deodrant, is the Jack Wills Spray in Hope Cove and Ariana Grande's latest perfume. Once that is all done, I am ready to go out and go to work or go out shopping or where ever.
So that is the end of my post, I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it. Feel free to leave a comment.
Well Hello and welcome back to my blog, it's been a while since I have posted and I am finally glad to be back writing again for you. This one isn't beauty but it is more what I call lifestyle and more just about something I love. It's very easy to find something you can be addicted to but it's very hard to get out of it, which is why for such a long time I avoided getting Netflix because I for one knew what I was like when it came to watch films and television series's. It's easy to say I like this and I like that, but getting hooked on something that you can't stop watching is when there's a problem and it isn't good when you have a job to go to that you shouldn't be staying up to the ridiculous time of the morning, let's say 3 am watching a television series, to then get up for a 9am shift at work. It's good to know you hve something to watch but it's not always good when your not sleeping because of it, but at least you know one thing, you're not wasting the £6 you are spending each month for a Netflix Subscription.
So if you hadn't guessed the subject of my blog post today is Netflix and what I am loving on Netflix. A couple of years ago I remember everyone talking about how great Netflix was and I was just not budging and not falling for it and didn't bother to even give it a try so I went without it. How I don't know but i just watched my TV series's through DVD. It took me too long to even get Netflix, but in September 2016, I had decided to give Netflix a shot, thinking I wouldn't like it, but once I downloaded it, I started watching and got addicted to the sight. It literally is great for whether you have had a bad day and just want to relax, or just ot put on because you don't know what else to do or if you want something to watch whilst doing course work or like me right now whilst writing a blog post. Now after rambling on about why I love Netflix, I have decided to add what television series I am loving, I will add at least three or four otherwise we could be here for a while. First off - Thirteen Reasons Why
I know this is really recent but I recently started and although I am only on about the fourth episode i am hooked and literally love it. I know it's a triggering subject which is why I am not going to talk about it much. But one thing i love is that it keeps you intrigued, you can't guess the reason straight away, unlike some shows, you don't get many that you can't guess what is going to happen, like it's unpredictable.
Secondly - Pretty Little Liars
Although i had four of the seasons on DVD before hand, I had only got up to season 3, well half way through season 3. By the time I got Netflix I went straight in to continue watching the series, and although i have my times when I don't want to sit and watch it, it is by far my favourite series to watch on Netflix, I mean I already half of what happens in Series 6 and 7 but I now need to catch up between the series.
Thirdly - The Big Bang Theory
I am well aware this show has been going or a long while and I have watched it on TV before but I have no clue what series but in the end once i got Netflix I decided to start watching it from series one, and honestly ts such a great show to sit and watch when you've had a long day at work that I literally love to sit and watch it whenever I can.
Finally - Once Upon a Time
This show was something I took a wing on, thinking it wasn't going to be that good, thinking I wasn't going to like it and didn't think I was going to get hooked. As soon as I started watching i was hooked, I got through two seasons in a matter of two weeks pretty much, and well I just fell in love with the show straightaway. The stories that are told in it, I love Emma Swan and Captain Hook together. And all I say, is if you haven't watch the series yet, then you really should.
So that is the end of my post, I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it. Feel free to leave a comment.
Welcome back to my blog my lovelies, for once I am back with a make up review post, instead of some kind of life advice post that I probably have no clue what I am talking about. Now I am not the perfectionist on make up but lipsticks is something that I am quite used to and I think I can talk about.
Products mentioned in this post:
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour - Devotion 600
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour - Flirtation
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour - Addiction
Liquid Lipsticks are something I fell in love with when I tried them, I never thought I would, I didn't think they would be good. With normal lipsticks I find they last for a few hours and then come off after a few sips of a drink and a few bits to eat and you don't have anything left on your lips. WIth the Liquid Lipsticks, yes you have a reapply it after a while but now as much as lipstick and it looks amazing and they just look amazing on your lips.
One thing I have noticed from these lipsticks is that with them, they re very moisturising on the lips, there's been a lot of times I have forgotten to put lip balm on to sooth my lips and i have found these liquid lipsticks have been very moisturising on my lips and helping them as well.
Another good thing about these liquid lipsticks is the pigmentation, with some lipsticks, they show one colour but when you use them, they don't come out the colour you expect them to or what it looks like. With this, the colours you see in the packaging is the colour that appears on your lips as well.
I definitely recommend these Revlon Liquid Lipsticks for those reasons and they are just so nice, I wouldn't say they are on the pricey side, but they are definitely a bit more pricey then some other lipstick, they are £8.99 from Superdrug. If I had to choose a favourite at the moment, it would be Addiction. Which is more a dark plummy colour then what it shoes in the picture.
So that is the end of my post, I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it. Feel free to leave a comment.
